Our Mother of Good Counsel School belongs to two recognized national Honor Societies. They are: The National Junior Honor Society and the California Junior Scholastic Federation. Students of these two organizations hold a 3.5 academic average in the five major areas of the curriculum (excluding Religion). Our students continually strive for excellence through Christian Service in both the community and school and maintain a B or better average in Conduct and Effort.
Students who maintain these standards for both semesters of 8th grade and at least one of 7th grade are permitted to wear a gold cord at their graduation ceremony.
Both of these organizations can be found on all high school campuses across the nation. By the students obtaining this honor in Junior High, if they continue to maintain the required standards may join the high school societies in 9th grade.
